Rugby McGi was not the first love.
Dancing was his passion, and her talent as a ballet and contemporary dancer earned her a place in the Royal Conservatoire, Scotland.
This agile footwork would serve him well in his final calling as a rugby player, but it was not till 2018 that he handled the game at the age of 15.
She joined Watsonian the following year and assisted the club in 2023 in a premiere title.
He received his first Scotland call-up in the same year, announcing himself at the Test Arena with a surprising single effort in win over Ireland, which enrolled for the Breakthrough Player of the Year Award of World Rugby.
McGi has proved himself a player for a big opportunity.
She came with an attempt to win a last-Gas match against Ireland in six nations of this year, and her hat-trick against Wales made her international effort-scoring record 13 in 23 matches.
