A 69 -year -old woman was seriously injured after being attacked by three dogs in the highlands.
Police said emergency services were called for an incident near Invarshin in Sadherland. The woman was rushed to the hospital.
A 76 -year -old man was arrested.
The BBC Scotland News understands that two dogs were registered and legally owned XL bulls.
Police Scotland said emergency services were alerted at around 13:40.
A spokesperson said: “Emergency services participated and 69 -year -old woman was rushed to the hospital by an air ambulance with serious injuries described as serious injuries.
“A 76 -year -old man has been arrested and accused in relation and interrogation is on.”
The witnesses reported a helicopter air ambulance landing on A836.

The UK government published guidance to help identify XL bulls, external that is not a specific breed.
They are described as large dogs “with the body and blocked head of a muscle, suggesting great power and power”.
The restrictions came into force in Scotland in February 2024 after the rest of the UK.

When the Conservative UK government announced an XL bully ban for England and Wales, it said that the breed was “inconsistently involved” in the deaths recorded since 2021.
In many cases, XL bulls are known to kill their owners and children.
