WhatsApp may soon roll a feature which is already ‘exist’

If widely rolled, the facility like sound mail can make WhatsApp call more versatile.
WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new sound mail-style feature that will allow users to leave a quick voice message when their call is exceptioned. Although this idea may seem new, it is worth noting that WhatsApp already supports sending voice notes in chat, is complete with playback control that allows the audience to speed up speed.
How does the feature works
According to wabetainfo (through Tecnoblog), the option is part of the latest WhatsApp beta for Android. If no call is picked up, users are presented with a new “record voice message” button with the current “call agen” and “canceled” options. It leaves an audio message on the spot to the callers, without manually the need to return to the chat screen to record a manually.
Currently, this feature has not been seen in WhatsApp’s iOS testflight, and there is no official timeline for a global rollout.
WhatsApp focuses on increasing call
Interestingly, it closely follows after update reports that WhatsApp is also testing a call reminder tool, which is designed to motivate users to return the calls that they can miss. With two call-related experiments in tasks, the app-owned app seems eager to strengthen its voice and video calling experience-despite the fact that many users now lend more towards messaging and short-form voice notes.
What does it mean for users
If widely rolled, the facility like sound mail can make WhatsApp call more versatile. However, since WhatsApp allows users to send voice notes with more flexibility already, such as controlling the playback speed, some may see it as a less useful addition.
It also raises another important question: WhatsApp will take into account the growing issue of spam and robocol on its platform? As the company creates new equipment for calling, users must be looking closely to see if it also invests in strong security against misuse.
