Parts of India are struggling with monsoon fury, with heavy rains, landslides, cloudbursts and floods, Himachal Pradesh in the states faced by severe monsoon rains, where IMD has predicted the possibility of flood floods between heavy rains and cloudbursts.
In addition, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued an orange warning for heavy rains in some parts of the Konkan region of Maharashtra.
The Meteorological Department had predicted heavy rains in parts of Himachal, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan in the next few days.
Here is a state-wise weather prediction according to the IMD:
Himachal Pradesh
An orange warning, a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas across Himachal Pradesh, is in place from Friday to Sunday. Apart from this, there is a minimum flash-flood warning in parts of Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi and Shimla districts.
Due to rain -related incidents, Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday increased to 11 with the recovery of six more dead bodies, while 34 missing people were searching.
According to the news agency PTI, the region was the most recession in floods and cloudbers, and overall Hill State saw 1 cloudburst incidents, four flash floods and a major landslide.
In the market alone, about 151 roads were blocked for the movement of vehicles, and 148 houses, 104 cattle sheds, 31 vehicles and 14 bridges were damaged.
Delhi
While there is no warning for heavy rains in Delhi for Thursday, the Meteorological Department has predicted moderate rain with thunderstorms.
The minimum temperature was at 27.7 degrees Celsius this morning, recorded at the Air Quality Index (AQI) 70, which was in the ‘satisfactory’ category.
The arrival of monsoon in the city was announced on 29 June, nine days before the general date of 8 July.
Maharashtra
Many parts of Maharashtra are receiving heavy rains, the Konkan region is the most affected. An orange warning is in place for the Konkan region for today, predicting heavy to heavy rainfall in isolated places.
The coastal Konkan region consists of Palghar, Thane, Mumbai City, Mumbai Suburban, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts.
Apart from this, a red alert for rain was also released in ‘Ghat’ (hill pass) areas in Pune district, but it was only till 8:30 am on Thursday.
Odisha
A cyclonic circulation in South Jharkhand and other areas increased heavy rains and water levels in many rivers in Odisha. The state is expected to receive heavy rains by 7 July according to IMD.
At least two persons died in floods in Balasore district of Odisha, and about 60 villages have been affected by flood -related incidents in Odisha.
Till Tuesday, the number of villages affected in Balasore was 100. Many roads and fields and villages obstructed daily life.
Uttarakhand
In Uttarakhand, the Munkatiya and debris are falling from the mountains in the area that slipped under the Sonprayag region. This has greatly influenced the Kedarnath Dham Yatra devotees, and their journey has been temporarily prevented.
The annual Char Dham Yatra, which includes pilgrimage of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, is one of the most important religious visits in Hinduism.
