Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park is spread over 2,800 acres and developed by Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), home to over 200 IT firms and accounts for more than 60% of the state’s IT exports. However, there have been concerns over the deteriorating infrastructure. Last year, the Hinjewadi Industries Association claimed that more than 37 IT companies had left the park due to insufficient civil support.Saturday’s inspection came in the wake of the monsoon mantra before the season, causing wide waterfall and traffic snarls, especially in areas with populated areas by the IT workforce.
