British number Emma Redukanu and Jack Draper will face each other in this week’s new-look US Open Mixed Doubles event.
22 -year -old Redukanu, five -time Grand Slam winner Carlos Alakraj, while the 23 -year -old Draper, will play with American Jessica Pegula after his original partners, Tommy Paul and Paula Badosa, after Tommy Paul and Paula Badosa.
The organizers were heavily criticized in February, after announcing that the mixed doubles competition would be a standalone event on August 19-20 – before the single tournament begins on 24 August.
It will compete for $ 1M (£ 749,077) in 16 pairs of flushing meadows.
Redukanu, who won the US Open title in 2021, and Spaniard Alakraj has been entrusted with a wildcard entry for a two -day tournament.

The first two rounds will be held on Tuesday and the semi -finals and finals will be played on Wednesday.
