Two devotees were electrocked and many others were injured outside the historic Awasheshwar Mahadev Temple, as they came in contact with an iron pipe and tin shed, which developed an electric current in Barbanki district in Monday’s time.The structure was established for the safety and convenience of devotees amidst the ongoing monsoon season.Police said the identity of the deceased was being ascertained.Local authorities and police personnel reached the spot immediately after the incident and started necessary procedures.Eyewitnesses claimed that the accident occurred when both the victims tried to take shelter under the tin shed during the rains. Preliminary reports suggest that the structure may survive with electricity due to defective wiring or leakage.Police Circle Officer Hydergarh said, “The administration has started an investigation into the case, and the local electricity department has been asked to inspect the site.”
