Liberia says that two crew members of a Liberian-Flagd cargo ship have been killed in an attack in the Red Sea from the coast of Yemen.
An Liberian representative of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) said that eternity C was “badly attacked … the cause of the death of two sailors”.
The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency stated that a ship “had lost significant damage and all proposals” after a ship was hit by rocket-propelized grenade.
Marine security sources told the Reuters News Agency that eternity C was now doing adrift and listing, and that the 22-firm crew was made of 21 Philipino and a Russian.
There was no immediate claim by any group, but it came a day after Yemen’s Hurthi movement that it launched another Liberian-Flagged cargo ship, missiles in the magic seize, and sea drones, and forced the crew to leave it.
The American Embassy in Yemen accused Hothis of targeting eternity C, described it as the “most violent attack” of the Iran -backed group on a commercial vessel in the region.
“Hauthis are once again showing a clear disregard for human life, reducing the freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, defying [UN Security Council] A statement stated that demand, and regional stability threatened.
IMO General Secretary Arsenio Dominguez said: “Refruiting the abusive attacks in the Red Sea leads to a new violation of international law and freedom of navigation.”
“Innocent seepers and local population are the main victims of these attacks and the pollution they made. Creative dialogue is the only solution.”
The UKMTO said on Tuesday morning that it received a third party report of a trader vessel with rocket propelled grenade from small craft from Monday morning, which is about 51 miles (94 km) to the west of the Hurti-Age-aged port of Hooseada.
Without recognizing the ship as eternity, the agency quoted the company’s security officer, saying that it had “significant damage and he had lost the promotion”.
“The vessel is surrounded by small crafts and is under constant attack,” it said.
Two deaths on eternity C have incorporated red C shipping since June 2024.
They also increase the total number of crew members killed in attacks in the region since November 2023, when Houthis began to target traders ships with missiles, drones and small boat attacks in the Gulf of the Red Sea and Aden. They have so far drowned two ships and seized a third.
Hothis have stated that they are working in support of Palestinians in the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, and claimed – often false – that they are only targeting ships associated with Israel, America or UK.
He has controlled the northwest Yemen since 2014, when he excluded the internationally recognized government from the capital Sana, and provoked a civil war.
In May, Hauthis agreed to a ceasefire agreement with the US after seven weeks of fast US attacks on Yemen in response to international shipping attacks.
However, he said that the agreement did not include the end of attacks on Israel, which has organized several rounds of ventilative attacks on Yemen.
Hauthis said on Monday that they attacked the seas of magic on the previous day as it “belongs to a company that violated the entry ban on the ports of the occupied Palestine”.
UKMTO said the crew was safe after being rescued by a passenger vessel.
