Three people have been killed, and 10 others were injured after a large -scale shooting at a popular nightclub in Turks and Caicos Island on Sunday morning, an attack official is making the first call of his kind in the British area.
The Royal Turk and Kaikose Islands Police Force said the shooting took place on July 27 before 3 am and in the providenceial at the cigar lounge. According to investigators, the attack was involved in at least four suspects, although no arrests have been made till Tuesday.
Police Commissioner Fitz Bailey described the incident as “deeply upset” in a statement For Associated Press.
In a press briefing, Premier Charles Washington Missic linked the shooting to gang -related violence and stated that most of the activity focused in high -lotion communities. He urged members of those communities to cooperate with law enforcement and help to identify how illegal firearms are entering the country.

“What we are seeing is unprecedented,” said Missic. “This level of violence is not something that we can allow to be normal. It is not a situation that we should accept. It is not a normal situation, and we will make every effort to exclude it.”
Officials confirmed that 10 people were rushed to the hospital after the attack. Seven different degrees are hospitalized with injury, and one person is in critical condition. The two victims were airlifted abroad for advanced treatment, and the local hospital was placed on a lockdown to secure the scene and protect the injured.
In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, the Royal Turks and Caikose Islands Police Force condemned the shooting and urged the public to assist in investigation.

“This incident underlines the ability and desire of criminals to do serious acts of violence against our citizens, residents and visitors,” the statement said. “The police force is urging anyone to continue to partner with us to provide justice to these criminals.”
A reward of $ 10,000 is being presented for information for the arrest of the suspects. The authorities have not yet identified a clear purpose.
Premier Missic assured the public that the government was fully supporting law enforcement and emphasized the importance of unity and resolution in front of such violence.

“My government is 100% behind the police. It is important that we can do everything to prevent violence,” he said. “At the same time, I want to appeal to the general public to be afraid. We should not do, as the commissioner said, back in front of those who want to remove the good reputation of our islands.”
The Turks and Kaikose governments come to tragedy amid fresh efforts to counter illegal immigration.
“Just cut me to chase,” said Missic. “Now we are looking at the murderers of the ganglland-type. A lot of violence of this gang seems to be centered in our high-tight communities.”

According to the United Nations Humanitarian Office, an estimated 10,900 highautians live in the Ottoman and Caicos Islands, about one -third of the total population. About 80% of live on providenceial, the most populous island in the region, but only 20% has a permanent residence state.
Missic warned, “This is a warning to everyone – who knows anything and say nothing, who are supporting criminals and committing crimes,” Missic warned. “This government is committed to ensuring that the Ottoman and Cacos Islands have been a safe place to live and raise families.”
