New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on Thursday that US President Donald Trump has said that there is a “dead economy” in India, saying that the BJP government is running the country on the ground as PM Narendra Modi “only works for one person, Adani”.Claiming that there is “total confusion”, Rahul said that the Modi government has destroyed India’s economic policy, foreign policy and defense policy, and Modi “does not know how to run the country”.“Modi only works for one person – Adani. He has destroyed all small businesses. You will see, it (Indo -US business) will be a deal, and Trump will define how the deal is done, and Modi will do as Trump,” he said.Talking to journalists amid the line on implementing Trump’s tariff, Rahul said that there is no question that “Indian economy is a dead economy, the whole world knows it, except PM and Finance Minister”. He quipped, “I am happy that President Trump has said a fact.”He said, “The Indian economy is dead, mentioning it between Modi killed it”, “Adani-Moudi partnership, demonetisation and faulty GST”.Suggesting that Trump’s tariff was to be seen in combination with other geopolitical issues, Rahul said that India’s “talent foreign policy” can be ascertained by the fact that “while America is misusing India, China is after you”, and no country condemned Pakistan for the Pahgam terrorist attack when a multi-partner. He said that the PM did not name Trump and China (in Parliament), and did not accept that no country had condemned Pakistan, while “Trump is having lunch with Pakistan’s military chief who is behind the Pahgam attack”. “And they say this is a big success. What is success?” He did the jib.Rahul said that the important question was that Modi was unable to answer Trump’s claim, more than 30-times, that he forced to ceasefire, that India lost five aircraft, and now saying that India would pay 25% tariffs.
