No deal in Alaska. This was always the most likely and, in the absence of Ukrainian President Volodimier Zelancesi, perhaps the most desirable results.
But the US President Donald Trump’s piws away from the need for an immediate ceasefire, which he already wanted, will cause depth around Kiev and Europe.
Russia’s position has been a long time that a ceasefire may come in terms of a comprehensive disposal keeping in mind the interests of Russia – and essentially means the capitulation of Ukraine.
This is the situation that Trump has once again supported.
“It was determined by all that the best way to end the terrible war between Russia and Ukraine,” he wrote on the truth social, “directly to go to a peace agreement.”
The ceasefire, he said, “often does not hold the bar”.
It fly on the face of the main demand of Ukraine, supported by all its European backs: that an unconditional ceasefire has to come first.
Seriously, it also buys Vladimir Putin of Russia in the battlefield, where he is confident that he is winning.
“If Putin’s military objective was to avoid immediate obstacles on Russian operations in Ukraine,” says Matthew Sawville at the Royal United Services Institute, Savil says, “he succeeded,” says Matthew Sawville, director of military science at Royal United Services Institute.
Last night in his brief press appearance, Putin warned Ukraine and Europeans that he and Trump did not “throw a wrench” in the uninterrupted progresses.
But, for Kiva and his colleagues, well that Trump has done, which they all expected was a successful preceding week of heroic diplomacy with the aim of influencing the results in Alaska, undo the achievements.
This is a reminder, such as someone was required, to echo the ideas of the last person for the tendency of Trump’s tendency.
For a while this morning, European leaders must have stopped their breath, to see if their efforts had produced or put on one side.
For his word before the summit, Trump found on the phone for Zelancesi. Both people spoke for an hour before joining by European leaders.
Zelansky said the call was “long and original” and he would travel to Washington on Monday for his first visit since the disastrous Oval office encounter in February.
Since then a lot has happened, European colleagues of Kev have been working to damage the White House’s Capricorn and volatile living and fix the school Zelanceci.
“I am grateful to the invitation,” Zelansky posted, “it is important that America’s strength has an impact on the state”.
But in a later post, Trump socially adopted a more necessary tone after Trump’s statement on Social.
“The murders should be closed as soon as possible,” he said. “Fire should be closed against the battlefield and sky, as well as our port infrastructure.”
Europe’s “Trump Visperrs” picked up this morning, where he left last week.
He highlighted the important importance of involving Ukraine in the conversation about his future, but also stopped, as they know that they should do regularly, to show praise for Trump’s efforts.
“President Trump’s efforts have brought us closer than ever to end Russia’s illegal war in Ukraine,” said the UK Prime Minister Sir Kir Stmper.
Stamor said he welcomed what he said to the “openness” of America with Europe, with Europe, to provide a “strong safety guarantee” for Ukraine in a deal position.
If and when the fight finally ends, the exact nature of those guarantees should be written in more detail than yet.
Despite the emerging role of Europe as Ukraine’s leading military, economic and political supporters, everyone knows that Ukraine’s future security cannot be really assured without America’s original support.
In his comments at the Alaska Summit, Italian leader, Georgia Meloni stated that the guarantee for Ukraine “may be inspired by Article 5 of NATO” – the principles of collective defense signed by all NATO members.
This morning several reports suggested the guarantee idea outside NATO, but was discussed between Trump and European leaders during the latest call.
But this morning, clearly about Trump’s face, you can hear the sound of the brain roaming almost in European capitals.
In London, the government appears to be putting on a brave face.
“If you can do it all [a ceasefire and a peace agreement] This is clearly a good thing at once or in quick succession, “a senior downing street source said.
“But we all want to see fight stops”.
Trump has moved away from the idea of immediate ceasefire, there is no doubt that Putin’s highly controversial account has been reported from how the ceasefire broke in the past.
In Alaska, the Ardh-SOT already represented a cost-free victory for Putin. The withdrawal of an international paria on the international stage (although may be in Elmendorf-Richardson airbase with unclear performances of an US military) and some of the state travel trappings.
Moscow also began to have a threat to an increase in US sanctions, Trump said it could be two or three weeks before it would have to think about it.
All this questions what can congratulate Zelanceci on Monday in Washington and when he finally finds herself in the room with Putin and Trump.
What is the advice to Trump for the Ukrainian leader, the scene of Fox asked.
“Make a deal,” the blunt answer came. “Russia is a great power and they are not.”
