President Donald Trump, while defending his use of the word “shelock” at a rally this week, said that he was unaware that it is considered anti -social by some people.
Trump used the term in his speech in Iowa on Thursday, a large beautiful bill act was passed by the Congress earlier in the day immediately after his signature.
Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice” is the name of the Shilok Villain Jewish Moneylender, who demands a pound meat from a debtor.

Over time, the name was used more widely to refer to debt sharks or greedy moneylenders. Today, it can be considered an antisemic slur, especially when used in terms of Jewish people.
Trump said, “No death, no property tax, no one is going to banks and in some cases, in some cases, a fine banker and in some cases, borrowing to Shilox and bad people,” said Tram, while Estate refers to the abolition of the bill to eliminate taxes and borrowed burden.
The term did not provoke any response from the crowd, but his comment quickly blew up online, and later defended it using it when a reporter said that it is widely considered an anti -phrase.
“No, I have never heard of it,” Trump replied. “For me, a modelock is one that is a moneylender at high rates. I have never heard of it in this way. You see it differently from me. I have never heard of it.”
The Anti-Defense League (ADL), which works to combat antisemiamitism, said the term “is a centuries-old antisemitic trop about Jews and Greed that is extremely aggressive and dangerous.”

ADL wrote in a statement on Friday, “President Trump’s word is very upset and irresponsible.” “It underlines that lies and conspiracies about Jews are deeply surrounded in our country. Our leaders have words and we expect more from the President of the United States.”
Rape. Jerry Nudler, D-NY, who is Jewish, agreed to Trump to use the term and exploded.
“The word ‘modelock’ is one of the most recognizable antisemitic slurs in the English language,” Nudler wrote on X. “This is a centuries -old troph that has promoted discrimination, hatred and violence against Jews for generations. I clearly condemn the dangerous use of Donald Trump this clearly an antisemic slurry.”
Nudler said that Trump has exploited the rise of antisementism to suppress a free speech and is not serious about dealing with the problem.
Orthodox political commentator John Podoratz, who is also a Jew, shot back into the nudler.
“I condemn your support of a sectic mayorl candidate, which you did because you are a Pusilimius coward,” Podoratz wrote in the context of Nadler supporting Zoharan Mamdani for the Mayor of New York City. “Best Trump said that the same week the Shelock destroyed Iran’s nuclear program. What have you done for Jews, Jerry?”
