President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he was exploiting the Transport Secretary Scene Dafi to serve as NASA’s interim administrator, a step that the President said that the national priorities reflect the increasing importance of space in national priorities.
“I am happy to announce that I am instructing my great transport secretary, Sean Dafi, to be NASA’s interim administrator,” Trump Truth posted on social,
“He would ever be a magnificent leader of the more important space agency, even if only for a short time.”

A former Congressman of Wisconsin and a long time Trump associate Dafi acted with the role enthusiastically. “🚀 was honored for accepting this mission. Time to handle space. Let’s launch.” He wrote on X.
Dafi replaced Janet Petro, who has served as NASA Administrator since January. Trump withdrew the nomination of Zred Isaqman for the role in May.

Isaacman, a billionaire private astronaut and a long associate of Elon Musk, were nominated by Trump in December 2024, but faced a growing investigation on Musk and SpaceX’s relationship, which some officials saw as a conflict of interest.
According to the Associated Press, Trump said that the decision to pull the name of Isaacman came after increasing concern over the “intense review of the former associations” and “corporate complications”.

NASA has decided rapidly in the National Defense, Innovation and Economic Agenda of the Trump administration. Trump has long emphasized strategic importance of space, launched space force during its first term.
