President Donald Trump called the spiraling crime “shameful” in Washington, DC, as he prepares for high-day meetings with foreign leaders, directly pointing to his much-awaited Friday meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“This is an emergency,” Trump told the media during his press conference on Monday morning that he was doing federation. The DC police emphasized to curb crime in the city. “This is a sad emergency. And it is shameful for me to be here.”
“You know, I am going to see Putin. I am going to Russia on Friday. I don’t like to talk about how insecure and how dirty and disgusting it is, once a beautiful capital, on walls with frescoes,” He continued.
Trump is scheduled to meet Alaska with Putin on Friday, strategically located between DC and Moscow.
Trump on Monday announced a crime emergency in the nation’s capital and made a National Guard and hundreds of other law enforcement officers of various agencies will enter the city to stop further crimes.

He said, “Our capital city has overtaken violent gangs and blood-soaked criminals, crowds of wild youth, drug-out frenzy and a crowd of homeless people,” he said. “And we are not going to be it anymore. We are not going to take it.”
Washington, DC’s crime rate followed the national increase in violent crimes in 2020, when there were protests and riots in nationwide cities at the height of the epidemic.

In January, Trump was swept away and flowed in later years the crime trend in the nation’s capital after rebuating the Oval Office to the Oval Office. The city has been plagued with a handful of high-profile crimes in recent weeks, including a deadly shooting of a Congress intern in June, a deadly shooting of a pair of Israeli embassy in May and a cruel attack on the former government’s efficiency employee in August.
Local Democrat leaders have slammed Trump on the move to make the police federal, including DC Attorney General Brian Shwalab Arguing on X, arguing that no crime is an emergency, indicating how violent crimes have fallen “26%so far this year.”

Trump’s press conference comes a few days before his planned meeting on Friday to discuss the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

“I think we will have a constructive conversation,” Trump said on Monday, previewing the Friday meeting with Putin. “Then after the meeting – immediately, perhaps as I am flying outside, maybe I am leaving the room – I am calling European leaders I receive very well. And, you know, I have a great relationship, I think, with them all, and I meet with Zelanceci.

Trump said he would know if Putin is honest about the AA deal to end the war within a few minutes of meeting him. The President said that the “exchange of land” between the two countries would probably be part of the deal.
He said, “We are going to have a meeting with Vladimir Putin. And at the end of that meeting, perhaps in the first two minutes, I will know if a deal can be done or not,” he said.
“How do you know,” a reporter replied.
