President Donald Trump has canceled the Secret Service Protection, which was arranged for Kamla Harris by Biden, before leaving the office according to one of the advisors of the Vice-Pressidant.
As a former vice -president, Ms. Harris was entitled under the law to get six months of additional security after leaving the office in January.
His safety was extended for another year by executive instructions signed by his former boss, but it was canceled in a memo by Trump, which was observed by the BBC, dated to Thursday.
The BBC has asked the White House and Secret Service to comment.
The step came a few weeks before the commencement of a national book tour to promote Harris “107 days” – a memoir of his short -lived and eventually the President’s campaign in 2024.
A copy of a letter viewed by the BBC directs the secret service to discontinue any security-related procedures already authorized by the executive memorandum “beyond the people essential by the law” for Harris from September 1, 1 September.
