President Donald Trump and European Commission Chairman Ursula von Der Leyen on Sunday announced a trade deal between the US and the European Union.
After addressing the media of both, it was announced that both agreed that the possibility of an agreement was around 50–50. Von Der Leyen said that the talks had taken some “heavy lifting”, but the two leaders agreed that they were happy with the result.
“We agree that there would be a direct tariff for automobile and everything else will be 15%straight-out-cause tariff,” Trump said.
He said, “So we have a tariff of 15%. We have the inauguration of all European countries, which I think I could say that I was essentially closed.

Trump and Von Der Leyen looked uncertain whether a deal would be signed while talking to the press in Scotland on Sunday.
“We are eager to see if we can do something,” Trump said about the talks. “We had a very good relationship over the years, but it is a very unilateral transaction, very unfair to the United States.”
Responding to a reporter’s question, von Der Leyen agreed with Trump that the bilateral trade should be “rebellious”, which is worth billions of dollars.
