The US Department of Justice has asked a judge to ignore the material related to sexual criminal Jeffrey Epstein after a thorough criticism of handling the case of the Trump administration.
This request worries about tape from the grand jury involved in the government’s 2019 sex trafficking case against Epstein, which is usually protected by secret and law.
As a court filing, Trump filed a case against the Wall Street Journal’s original company, its owner Rupert Murdoch and two reporters, claiming a story that he wrote a “Bawdi” individual note to Epstein in 2003.
Trump said the note, which the paper reported that he had sent for Epstein’s 50th birthday, is “fake”.
On Friday, Trump refused to answer reporters’ questions about his years of relationship with Epstein, and delay in releasing more information in Epstein case.
On Thursday, he ordered Attorney General Palm Bondi to find the release of documents related to Epstein’s secret grand jury testimony.
The Department of Justice formally requested a judge in New York, arguing that the grand jury material related to the case – where they were accused of smuggling dozens of girls, who are under 14 years of age in a sex trafficking conspiracy – “qualification as public interest” and should be unnecessary.
The department is also asking for the revelations in the case of its colleague Ghishwin Maxwell, who was convicted in the conspiracy of child sex smuggling.
A grand jury – a panel of people who have enough evidence to charge a person with a crime – can hear from confidential informers and whose identity is preserved for their protection. The material in a grand jury is usually kept secret under the law, but a judge can ignore the documents. If they decide the public interest, it removes the need for such legal safety in a case.
In any way, it is not clear when the documents will be released, or if many of them are included, Trump’s supporters have been demanded.
In addition, on Friday, Trump filed a case of $ 10BN (£ 7.5bn) in Miami against Dow Jones, News Corp and Orthodox Media Tycoon Rupert Murdoch in Miami, which claimed that Wall Street Journal condemned him and violated his story about a letter on his story.
The President admitted that he and his staff members tried to stop the publication of the story. He said that the newspaper and Murdoch – who know Trump and had an up -end -doun relationship for decades – “directly warned” If they printed the article, they would be described as “false, malicious and defamation”.
Murdoch, who participated in the FIFA World Cup with Trump on Sunday, participated with Trump on Sunday, established a media empire – including Fox News – and often at the White House is credited with helping Trump to help Propel Trump.
Trump threatened that he would force Murdoch to testify in a suit.
“This suit has not only been filed by your favorite President, ME, but also to stand for all Americans who will no longer tolerate fake news media’s derogatory wrongdoings,” he wrote in another post on Friday.
The lawsuit also nominates two reporters who wrote the story, Khadija Safdar and Joseph Palazolo.
According to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), a letter after Trump was “included in several rows of typerint text prepared by a naked woman’s outline, which appears to be ready -made with a heavy marker”.
“The outline of the naked woman was a typewritte note styled as a fictional conversation between Trump and Epstein, written in the third person,” there is a paper report.
It allegedly refer to a joke that “Anegmus Never Age” and allegedly ends with words: “a sail is a wonderful thing. Happy birthday – and may be another wonderful secret every day.”
Trump refused to write a note after the article was published on Thursday, posting: “These are not my words, the way I talk. Also, I don’t draw pictures.”
The President developed on Friday amid a turbulent week as some of his most loyal supporters demanded more transparency and public disclosure in the Epstein case.
Some Trump’s loyalists have also called the Attorney General Bandy to resign after reversing the syllabus on the release of some documents related to Epstein.
In February, Bandi stated that a “customer list” related to Epstein “” was sitting on my desk “right now. Then last week, his office announced that there was no such “customer list”.
A Republican Sheriff Chad Bianco, a Republican Sheriff for the Governor of California, told BBC News that “Millions” are disappointed “Millions” of “what I was not doing” and “Millions” from his followers.
“We think we are being talked about to like stupid children.”
Meanwhile, Congress members are emphasizing to pass a “discharge petition”, which will force Bandy to be publicly available in all the no -confidence records, documents, communications and investigatives of the Department of Justice, including the offices of Federal Bureau of Investigation and United States Attorney.
The effort has brought some fiery opponents of the Congress together, including Republican Marjori Taylor Green and Democrat Alexandria Okasio-Coortage, which are signed as the two supporters.
