The Department of Justice on Monday asked the Supreme Court to deny the appeal of Jeffrey Epstein’s Associate Gilin Maxwell’s appeal for Maxwell’s appeal, a step that has recently come as a fire in the department to handle Epstein’s case files.
Maxwell, 63, was convicted by a jury in New York in 2021, including a minor and conspiracy sex trafficking. He was sentenced to 20 years in jail.
Maxwell appealed for his sentence, stating that it should be thrown out for several reasons, including a petition deal with the federal government in 2007, which vaccinated it and the borders were out.

The US Court of Appeal for the second circuit denied his appeal, but Maxwell argued that the Circuit Court provided the type of immune through non-prone to agreements, such as an Eptein, and the Supreme Court should weigh.
Maxwell is serving a jail sentence in Talhasi, Florida. It is ready to end in 2037.
The DOJ response to the High Court comes when the department recently ignited anger among a group of supporters of President Donald Trump, announcing that it had no new information to release the case related to Epstein. Epstein was accused in 2019 with the Sex Trafficking Underabing Women, but died before he was tested. The officials ruled that he died due to suicide.

Some officials of Trump DOJ advanced the principles that the government was hiding information related to Epstein’s case, but has since been backing to those claims.
The Congress can call Maxwell to testify in front of MPs. Citing anonymous sources, the Daily Mail said on Monday that Maxwells are interested in doing so. Maxwell’s lawyer did not respond to the request of Fox News Digital to comment on the report.
However, his lawyer took a jab to Trump DOJ on his position on Maxwell’s appeal.

Attorney David Oscar Marcus said, “I would be surprised that if President Trump knew that his lawyers were asking the Supreme Court to make a deal,” said Attorney David Oscar Marcus. “He is the last dealmaker – and I am sure he will agree that when the United States gives its word, it should be kept by it. About all the things who are being prosecuted and who is not, it is especially unfair that Gisline Maxwell remains in jail based on a promise, which was formed by the government and broken.”
