The World Darts Federation ruled earlier this week that organic men would not be allowed in women’s competitions who are transgender women.
A trans dart thror spoke against the decision in a long Instagram post, calling it “damage to the trans community in the game”.
“This last Monday, WDF (World Darts Federation) released a new policy about gender eligibility. I want to take a moment to respond. This decision impresses me personally – however, thankfully, not very seriously at this time. But still, it hurts,” Noa-Lin Van Lewaven wrote,

Van Lewaven said that “fairness is coming at the cost of” “exclusion”.

Van Lewven reached the WDF Dutch Open semi -finals in 2023 and 2024, but has since moved to the professional Darts Championship Circuit. Van Lewaven has won six women PDC titles.
