A person who has left his partner’s body in his flat living room for three years has been sentenced to 14 months in jail.
51 -year -old Jamie Stevens convicted a valid burial between May 2022 and May 2025.
In May 2022, Stevens of Reddenhill Road, Torquay found their partner Anouska sites dead on the couch in their flat.
The Exeter Crown Court was told on Monday how he covered his body with a blanket and never used the room again.
‘devastated’
In April this year, MS sites were reported missing and found him in a flat in Upton Road – which Stevens went out on 27 May.
Holi Gilberry prosecuted that Stevens lied to the police when he last saw MS sites.
Ms. Gilberry said that he told the officials that he had died in January 2023.
Paul Dentith defended that Stevens was “destroyed” from his partner’s death.
Date Inspection Jean Heller said: “ENSCA was denied the dignity and authority of a legitimate burial on his death by Stevens.
“My thoughts are made up with Anouska’s family and friends, who can now keep him to rest.”
Judge Anna Richardson said it was a “absolutely tragic case”.
“You completely panicked and covered his body and left it for years,” he said.
The judge said that his regret was real because he referred to MS sites as a “cute person who was better entitled”.
Stevens convicted a series of acts with the intention of spoiling the curriculum of justice between April and May 2025.
