BAFTA-Vigner actor Mitchell Ward has appeared in court on charges of rape and sexual harassment.
Mr. Ward, 27, who is known for roles in shows and films including Top Boy, Small X and Blue Story, was in the Themes Magistrate Court in London for a short preliminary hearing on Thursday.
He is accused of two rape cases and three cases of sexual harassment. He was granted bail and his case was sent to the Snorasbrook Crown Court on 25 September.
The actor of Cheshnta, Hurtfordshire has not yet been asked to enter a formal petition, but earlier stated that he denies “completely” allegations.
In a statement after being accused in July, he said that he had fully cooperated with the police during his investigation and was confident that his name would be approved.
According to the Metropolitan police, the alleged crime relates to a woman and reported to be in January 2023.
Mr. Ward was wearing black glasses and a black jacket for Thursday’s hearing, and talked to confirm his name, address and date of birth.
The actor made his name as one of the stars of the Panth Hit Blue Story in 2019, and won the Rising Star Award at the BAFTA Film Awards the following year.
He played Jamie in Netflix Hit Top Boy from 2019 to 22, and was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor at the BAFTA TV Awards for small ax in 2021.
The Jamaican-born actor also acted in the acclaimed 2022 drama Empire of Light, and will be seen in the Western Film Edington of the US Pandemic-era, which was released in the UK in the previous weekend.
