Cambodia would nominate President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, as he helped the country reach a ceasefire agreement to end his border struggle with Thailand.
Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Sun Chantol, thanked Trump for bringing peace to the region, while reporters were talked to in the country’s capital Nom Penh on Friday.
CHANTHOL said that the US President should be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, which is the highest profile international award to an individual or organization to “advance fellowship between nations”.
“We accept his great efforts for peace,” Chantol said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that last month he nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize and Pakistani officials said they would suggest him for his role in helping him end his struggle in June.
Trump urged a ceasefire last week when he spoke to leaders from Cambodia and Thailand and threatened that the US would not return to the “trading table” with Southeast Asian countries until the fight stops.
A ceasefire was discussed in Malaysia on Monday, which ended the heaviest struggle between the two countries in more than a decade.
Trump told reporters during his recent visit to Scotland, “Many people were killed and I was working with two countries, which we meet very well, very different countries with some attitude. They have been fighting for 500 years. And, we solved that war … We resolved it through trade.”

“President Trump did this. Give him the Nobel Peace Prize!”
The battle began last week after a Bhoomi Khan blast with Seema, injuring five Thai soldiers. Each party blamed the other for starting the clashes, which lasted for five days.
At least 43 people were killed and more than 300,000 people were displaced on both sides of the border.
“I said,” I do not want to do business with anyone, killing each other, “Trump continued in Scotland. “So we are just a solution. And I am going to call two Prime Ministers who I got very well and after this meeting I speak and congratulate them properly. But I was respected to join it. It was going to be a very bad war. They are very bad, very bad.”

Chanthol, who also serves as Cambodia’s top trade conversation, said that his country was also grateful to Trump for a lower tariff rate of 19%.
The Trump administration had initially threatened 49% tariffs, later before reducing it by 36%, a level that would reduce Cambodia’s significant costumes and shoes area, Chantol told Reuters.
