Three teenage friends have finished walking from UK to Ukraine after covering more than 1,000 miles (1,609 km).
James McCarthi – Hill, Kyle Spring and Adam Mitchell – All 18 years old – reaching the Polish -Ukrain border after setting up the age of 18 from Cathedral in Wiltshire on 29 June.
When they reach LVIV in western Ukraine, Group intends to spend about 15,000 pounds, which they have given money through running food and cleaning products, before assisting in three Ukrainian cities.
Mr. Mitchell said that walking was “so painful”, but the real battle was in his head, “You just have to get it and know that you are doing it for the right reasons”.
This idea developed after Sri Spring to travel with Ukraine with his father to assist his 17th birthday in May 2024.
He said that the journey had a profound impact on him.
Mr. Spring said, “Seeing the struggles of the soldiers in hospitals, and then smiling on the children’s faces, when we gave them goods like orange and banana, it definitely changed something in me,” said Mr. Spring.
He said, “I wanted to help them as much as possible.”
After lifting another £ 3,000 during the ride of the later push bike, he asked the volunteers to join the walk.
He said that Mr. Macarthi-Hil and Mr. Michelle “only two who used to say yes”, he said.
The Wiltshire Trio, who had an initial target of £ 10,000, spent most nights at the camp, as they passed through Central Europe, lived in a BNB every four nights to charge their power banks.
They intend to reach Ukrainian border by Sunday and said that they were trying to travel and travel further within the country.
Once this is resolved, he said that he planned to provide assistance with charity justin Ukraine assistance for the orphanage in Kharkiv, Odessa and Vinnitsia, before coming back to Britain by mid -September.
