Bank of England received thousands of reactions for their appeal for ideas for the first major redigation of Banknotes in 50 years.
He included a high amount of ideas of young people, despite showing that they are less likely to use cash, rather than prioritizing mobile payments.
“We have many thousands of reactions and have a lot of interest with young people,” said the bank’s chief cashier Victoria Cleland.
It released some examples of the designs obtained, including a dolphin, a psychic gap tree – also known as Robin Hood Tree and The Angel of the North Sculpture in Gatesheads.
Ms. Cleland said, “The response shows how important banknotes are to convince Britain and how much we have to celebrate.”
Bank of England sought public views on new topics for bank notes, such as major events in nature, innovation, or history.
He was also asked to suggest other basic subjects by the end of July.
“People are firmly engaged with our six suggested topics, and have suggested ideas of a wide range from engineering achievements to folklore and mythology,” Ms. Cleland said.
It belongs to the next range of public consultation bank, which will also include an image of the emperor.
Final decision on what is really specialized on a banknotes with the bank’s governor Andrew Bailey.

Notable historical figures such as Sir Winston Churchill on the current fiber have been painted on banknotes since 1970, but may be on the way.
The Emperor has appeared on the notes of Bank of England since 1960. Images of historical characters starting with William Shakespeare were seen on the reverse side for the first time after a decade.
Now, the bank is proposing that the design on the next series of notes can proceed to a new topic. While notable historical figures remain an alternative, other possible subjects suggested by the bank are:
- Famous buildings or palaces like architecture and landmarks
- Arts, culture and sports, including food, film and novels
- Notable events in history, which may include events or movements
- Innovation, such as technology or discovery
- Celebration of nature, plants, animals or natural landscape
Banknotes released in Scotland and Northern Ireland already carry images of octars and animals. Euro Banknotes feature architectural styles.
