Outgery tracker dowtector, who depends on the self-reported user data, was experiencing the outage of more than 2,500 EE customers on 1400 BST, with several other networks with reporting several issues with other networks.
However, Vodafone and three have confirmed the BBC that they do not have network issues.
An EE spokesperson apologized and said the firm is “currently addressing the issue affecting our services”.
“We are working immediately to fix this issue and will provide another update as soon as possible,” he said.
Other networks have seen spikes in the outage report on the dowtector – but it is likely to be a customer of the network unable to connect to the EE phone number.
