The opposition’s West Bengal Legislative Assembly Leader Suvandu Officer on Tuesday alleged that his convoy was attacked in Cooch Behar district, and claimed that the situation was quite serious that he was not survived that he was not traveling in a bulletproof vehicle.
He alleged that the attackers were “Bangladeshi Muslim” and described him as “arrogant”.
“I was in a bulletproof car, otherwise you must have seen me in the postmortem house. The situation was very bad. They also broke the glass of the bulletproof car. All these are Bangladeshi Muslims, arrogant,”
Following the officer’s response, Cooch Behar was allegedly attacked on Tuesday, when he was on his way to meet the Superintendent of Police.
Speaking to reporters, the official said, “The court had allowed the LOP and five MLAs to meet the SP. During our arrival, and later in Khagarbari, Uday Guha (TMC leader) on my convoy, a state minister, and fully rescued in the presence of the police. He is fully responsible for this, and SP Dightiman Bhattacharya has helped them … Bangladeshi had brought Muslims to attack.
He further alleged that democracy in West Bengal was “collapsed”.
“They brought Rohingyas and Bangladeshi Muslims to attack. They were brought to Khagarbari. In Bihar, Sir was operated, and they came to know that it would be done in West Bengal, so I was attacked. Cooch Behar is located near the border of Bangladesh, and I raised my voice to remove the intruders, so I said, I said.
