In Delhi, Yamuna crossed the warning level, reaching the Old Railway Bridge 204.60 meters at 7 pm on Sunday, the officials informed the officials on Sunday.
The warning mark for the city is 204.50 meters, while the danger mark is 205.33 meters, and the withdrawal of people starts at 206 meters.
The old railway bridge serves as a major observation point to track river flow and potential flood risks.
Officials said the situation is being monitored and all concerned agencies have been asked to take precautionary measures to handle floods like floods as the level will continue to rise as per the forecast.
A Central Flood Room official said, “The reason for the increase in the level is mostly due to the high versions of water released from Wazirabad and Hathnikund.”
According to the Flood Control Department, Hathnikund barrage is releasing the most in this season about 127,030 cusecs, and Wazirabad is releasing 45,620 cusecs of water, every hour.
The water released from the barrage usually takes 48 to 50 hours to reach Delhi. Even less discharge than upstream is increasing the water level, near the warning mark in Delhi.
The water level reached 204.65 meters at 1 pm on Friday and reached 205.11 meters on Saturday.
