A passenger who was riding on a Skywest flight, which changed Avoid b-52 bomber On Friday, it was said that it seemed that “fast bend on the roller coaster”.
“Its force kept me focused on my seat, but I could see out of the window and look directly on the grass instead of looking at the horizon,” said Monica Green who recorded the video of the pilot, who was making a announcement about the incident after landing at Minot, North Dakota.
“Just with blue, just like a sudden U-turn,” he said.
Skywest flight at that time had 76 passengers and four crew members. The B -52 bombers typically carry the crew of five, and the military aircraft was decreasing on Minot on the way to a flyover at North Dakota State Fair.
Minot Air Force Base said on Monday, “The flyover plan was in advance and was approved by the federal aviation administration.”
The Base said it conveyed the flyover plan for Minot Approach Control and the B -52 crew informed the flyover scheme both Rapcon and the Air Traffic Control Tower of Minot International Airport. “
The base said, “The B -52 crew approached the Minot International Airport Tower and the tower directed to continue 2 miles west after the flyover.” “Tower did not recommend inbound commercial aircraft.”
In the green recorded video after the aircraft is safely landed, the pilot peacefully tells the passengers: “For those people on the right hand side, you probably saw a little sorta coming to us. Nobody told us about it and so we continued.”
“I don’t know how fast they were going, but they were much faster than us,” he said, in the part. “I thought the safest task was to turn behind it. So, sorry about aggressive maneuvers. It surprised me.”
“This is not normal at all,” he said.
Green said that the pilot had told the passengers that they were still in the air that they would inform them about what they were running after safely landing.
Green said, “It was not known what was happening in the moment and just after this fact it was very crazy to hear, and then just to move away from the plane to continue our days normally,” Green said.
The FAA is investigating and working to determine how close the aircraft were.
Green said that the pilot did a wonderful job and wants to thank him for sure that everyone was safe.
She also said that she wants an answer. The flight stuck with her during her visit to Dallas on Monday.
“I was sweating,” he said. “I was moving. I was not excited to get and once we started taking off it actually hit me.”
