The parents of a 17-year-old boy, who were stabbed to death at a party, met the king and the Prime Minister at a summit in London.
After the death of his son Charlie at West Sussex in July 2023, Milford, Martin and Tara Kosar, Surrey established Charity Charlie’s promise.
He attended a youth opportunity summit at St. James Palace on Tuesday, as well as other knife crime campaigners, including actor Idris Elba.
Mr. Kosar, who met King Charles for the first time, said: “I want action from today’s summit.”
The campaigner said that on Tuesday’s summit “a lot of things about the knife crime are included”.
As a member of a government taskforce on this issue, Mr. Kosar was meeting Sir Kir Stmper for the second time.
“You are inspiring,” the Prime Minister told Mr. and Mrs. Kosar.
“I think it’s really humble that people who have been through some of the most frightening teachers are able to divert it in any way and make it channels to help others that they will probably never meet and will never know,” Sir Kir said.
“I often ask myself, because we have found a 17 -year -old boy and a 14 -year -old girl, how would I react?
“And I am not sure I will have courage and flexibility that you have to do what you do for other people.”
Mr. Kosar said about meeting royalty and politicians: “These people are highly respected and highly effective.
“What I want to know is what they can do in the fight against knife crime and youth violence.
“I gave Idris Elba my business card and said ‘I want to hear from you’,” Mr. Kosar said.
“He promised that he would return to me.”
Mr. Kosar has given more than 200 awareness talks in schools, and more than 10% of the students addressed by him were in primary school.
Mr. Kosar is calling compulsory knife for crime education.
He said: “We have the biggest tool education against knife crime.
“We need to raise the voice of our young people.
“I am confident that the legacy of my little boy has already saved his life and will continue to do so, and it is through the power of education.”
The government has said that it is committed to reducing a knife crime in the next decade.
