The businesses of a popular Yorkshire Delles Beauty Spot have criticized repeated examples of “inconsistent” parking during the peak visitor season.
Every year thousands of flocks for Malham Kov and nearby Gordel Scar, but some drivers have disrupted local roads while parking their vehicles.

A fourth generation farmer in Malham said, “This is definitely a pressure, without which we can.”
Mr. Carr, whose family has cultivated in this area for a century, said: “It is a pressure that people should be there if they were more thoughtful.”
Work on his farm was getting “severely obstructed” from poor parking, he said, preventing the use of farming machinery.
“You need a lot of space and circles to bring the machine around with large equipment,” he said.
“Parking makes it impossible.”
According to the latest data available, in 2023 Yorkshire Delles National Park attracted more than 5m visitors.
Mr. Carr said that he welcomed tourism to the walking hotspot, but called upon visitors to be more thoughtful while assessing parking options.
He said: “Get out of your car and think, are there businesses nearby?”
Simon Stephenson, who runs a snack bar near Gordel Scar, said Sunny Days often “crowded and many cars that we can maintain in Gordel”.
“We probably have comfortable space for 20 cars, but in those days it can be up to 50 or 60 cars,” he said.
“It causes a lot of traffic issues because roads are not just wider enough.”
Chris Wildman, who presided over the Kirkbi ointment Parish Council, stated that the additional double yellow lines are due to being depicted on “pinch points” after a successful application from the council, but a date for work was not yet determined.
Wildman said “99% of visitors are excellent”, but talked about “influence of sheep” among minorities.
“If a person parks illegally unfortunately it creates a knock-on effect,” he said.
“This is actually general knowledge – try not to block the roads.”
A spokesman for the North Yorkshire Council said that the roadside parking was an issue for the North Yorkshire police.
The BBC asked for force whether it had identified the area as a possible risk, but did not respond to the request of the comment.
