New Delhi: The central government on Monday notified the appointment of Chief Justice of five High Courts – Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Gauhati, Patna and Jharkhand – while transferring the Chief Justice of four others.Acting Chief Justice Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva of MP High Court has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the same High Court; Justice Vibhu Bakhru, a judge of the Delhi High Court, has been made the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court; Acting Chief Justice of Patna High Court Justice Ashutosh Kumar has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court; Judge Justice Vipul Manubhai Pancholi of Patna High Court has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the same High Court; And Justice Taralok Singh Chauhan, Judge of Himachal Pradesh High Court, as Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court.The Chief Justice, who have been transferred to other High Courts, are Justice Manindra Mohan Srivastava, transferred from Rajasthan High Court to Madras High Court; Justice Apesh Kumar Singh from Tripura High Court to Telangana High Court; Justice Ms. Ramchandra Rao, from Jharkhand High Court to Tripura High Court; And KR Sriram KR of Justice, Madras High Court to Rajasthan High Court.The transfer is based on the recommendations made by the Supreme Court Collegium on 26 May.
