New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Police on Monday arrested three people for allegedly disseminating a fake video from Pakistan, claiming the killings of Muslims. Police said the three accused confessed their purpose for “inciting communal tension” during the Kanwar visit.The police also suspect the possible partnership of Pakistan -based ISI handler behind the Act.The arrested people have been identified as Mademam, Mansesher and mysteries. He was caught by the Muzaffarnagar police after the video was shared in several WhatsApp groups, especially on the second Monday of Sawan, when thousands of Kanwar passed through the Yatri region.Dig Saharanpur Abhishek Singh said that while regularly monitoring social media, he found that a video is being broadcast in which the children murdered were shown. An audio clip wrongly claimed that the Bajrang Dal workers had killed Muslims in Mansoorpur and nearby areas.“During interrogation, the accused admitted that they wanted to awaken communal riots. His plan could attack a crowd or a lonely attack in the name of religion,” said the excavation. He said that the video was from Pakistan and the police is also watching the possible link of ISI handlers across the border.The video had already reached four large WhatsApp groups, each of which had hundreds of members. Police believe that it can be shared further through various modules.Raids are being conducted in other states to identify and arrest someone else in this network.A case has been registered under the Code of India (BNS), illegal activities (prevention) Act (UAPA), and classes of the IT Act. Police have also seized three mobile phones used in crime.Officials have urged the public not to share rejected videos or messages, especially during religious festivals, to avoid unnecessary terror or stress.
