Pop star Dua Lipa has been awarded Kosovo citizenship at a ceremony organized by President Vajosa Usmanani.
The singer was born to the Kosovan-Labanian parents in London, and she was briefly lived in the capital Printhine from the age of 11 when Kosovo returned after her parents after attaining freedom.
President Usmani said that it was a “honor” that provided Lipa with citizenship, portraying it as “one of the most prestigious cultural figures in our country’s history”.
Osamani wrote in a post on X, “Dua and Kosovo have always been inseparable. From the world’s largest stages to the hearts of millions of people, they have taken our story with strength, pride and grace.”
“Our gratitude is endless for everything of Dua, and continues for Kosovo.”
“Kosovo’s Mani – Welcome to the house,” he added to a separate post.
Lipa is currently for a three -day Sunny Hill Festival in Kosovo, which she improved on Friday.
Lipa has often talked about her love for the country, and established a donation that focuses on helping weak communities in Kosovo.
The radical optimism singer was congratulated at the ceremony by a children’s songs, singing a rendering of his hit levitating.
Apart from this, Kosovo was the Ambassador of Britain in Jonathan Hargravas in attendance.
He posted a picture smiling with Lipa on X, and said the UK and Kosovo were proud to say “one of our own” to the pop star.
Lipa now has citizenship for Britain, Albania and Kosovo.
He was awarded Albanian citizenship in 2022 to promote the country through his music and fame.
Lipa was also awarded the title of Honorary Ambassador of Kosovo by the President in 2022.
He said that it was a “honor and a privilege that was able to represent its country around the world and continue his work and efforts globally”.
Lipa is currently in Kosovo for the Sunny Hill Festival. He established a concert in 2018 with his father in his parents’ hometown.

After his performance on Friday, he wrote on Instagram: “Share with all of you on this night, in the city, who shaped me, surrounded by so much energy, happiness and pride … It is difficult to keep in words what it means.”
