The North Yorkshire police have released footage of a careless driver, which turned into a squad car on the 999 call.
The police vehicle was using siren and blue lights on A64 near West Hescerton in December, when an upcoming vehicle was swept away on the wrong part of the road, while trying to overtake a car.
The force said that the officer’s reactions avoided a head-on accident and the driver was later fined £ 666 and gave nine points on his license in the Scarborough Magistrate Court, where he accepted careless driving, the force said.
TC Joseph Shram said: “You can see a lack of awareness about vehicles on the opposite carriageway. The presence of the police car could not be more clear.”
