New Delhi: BJP on Tuesday accused Congress President Mallikrajun Kharge of insulting President Dupadi Murmu and former President Ram Nath Kovind, used, called “objectionable” and “abusive” language, and demanded public apology from both Kharge and Congress party. The controversy stems from Kharge’s remarks at a public rally in Raipur on Monday, where he expressed concern over the issues of forest land and questioned the BJP’s objectives behind the appointment of tribal and Dalit presidents. “They just talk big; we made Murma ji president of India, we (Ram Nath) made Kovind President. Yes, you did, but what? To snatch our property? To snatch our forests? To stop our water? He has done so to snatch our land,” Kharge said. While he allegedly denied the names of both President Murmu and his predecessor Kovind during his speech, he quickly corrected himself. However, the BJP has seized the comment on the comment, alleging deliberately insulting India’s top constitutional office holders.Addressing a press conference in Delhi, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said, “AAP (Kharge) talks a lot – you call Ram Nath Kovind ji ‘Kovid’ … You call ‘Murma ji’ and then (President Drupadi Murmu) calls him a land mafia, alleging that he has become presidents, forests, forests.”Bhatia further claimed that the “anti-opposition-tribal and anti-constitution mentality” of the Congress party has been highlighted. He said, “If the Congress and Mallikrajun Kharge do not apologize, you will see every citizen expressing their anger. This mistake will inflation to the Congress,” he warned, demanded a written waiver and resignation of Kharge. The BJP also linked Kharge’s comments with previous controversies, including Congress leaders. “Udit Raj said that no country should find President like Draupadi Murmu … Adhir Chaudhary addressed the President as a ‘Rashtrapati’ … Ajoy Kumar said that President Murmu reflects a bad mentality,” Bhatia said that Kharge’s latest comment was not a slip of tongue, but part of a “pattern”.The echo of criticism, BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonwalla said, “Kharge ji called President Drupadi Murmu as Kovid ji as Murma ji, Kovind ji as Kovid ji, then said that they are land grains, which reflect Congress hatred for deep seats for SC and STT community. This is the kind of tradition that the Congress has shown to constitutional positions. ,Meanwhile, the Congress defended its President. Party leader Pawan Khera said, “What Congress President Mallikrajun Kharge has said, you are right, you cannot continue exploiting the tribals.,
