A passenger aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing at the East Midlands Airport (EMA) due to a puncture tire.
The Tom7113 TUI flight was flying from the Greek Island in Korfu and on Monday at Birmingham Airport due to land on 13:35 BST, before diverting it.
Around 14:30 pm, EMA confirmed that the aircraft was safely attached to the airport at Castle Donington, Lessestershire, adding all the passengers.
Other passengers are expected to face heavy delays as emergency landing has stopped other aircraft from landing or landing at the airport.
The airport said it was “working to solve [the issue] As soon as possible “.
Many flights have been delayed at the airport, with some arrival now the schedule is expected more than an hour.
A spokesman at the airport said: “We have accepted a diverted TUI aircraft from Birmingham Airport, as it has been declared an emergency with a puncture tire.
“It has landed safely, and all passengers have disintegrated, but it is currently preventing other aircraft from landing or landing on our runway.
“We are working to solve it as soon as possible and ask the passengers to arrive or depart from East Midlands this afternoon for their patience.”
