Texas legislators have approved the map of the new Congress, which means to give Republicans an edge for the US House of Representatives in next year’s elections.
After two weeks of deadlock, where the Democrats left the state to stall votes and rally supporters against redistributed plans, Republican passed new voting lines in 88 – 52 votes in the Texas House of Representatives.
The maps will now go to the Texas Senate, where they are expected to be rapidly approved.
The aim of the new map is to give five seats to the Republican which is currently conducted by the Democrats and the party’s American house sidelines the majority. However, states led by Democrats are insisting on re -preparing their maps to offset those benefits.
