Liverpool has retired Jota’s number 20 shirts in his men, women and academy teams in the “Honor and Memory” of former wolves.
Several tributes are planned for the Preston game, including the pre-match randition of Liverpool’s Anthem, which you will never walk alone and one minute silence, wearing a black armband with a set of both players.
“Nothing seems important if we wonder what has happened,” the slot said. “But we are a football club and we need to train and we need to play again, if we want it or not.
“What I have said to the players, I can also say it here. It is very difficult to find the right words because we constantly argue what is appropriate. What is appropriate in our actions? What is suitable? [for] What do we have to say? Can we train again? Can we laugh again? Can we be angry at a wrong decision?
“And I have told him, perhaps the best thing for us is to handle this situation like Jota. And it means that Jota was always there, it doesn’t matter if he was talking to me, his team colleagues, to employees, he was always there. So we try to live together.”
Jota scored 65 goals in 182 demonstrations for Liverpool, helping him win the FA Cup and League Cup in 2022 and had a Premier League title in the previous season.
He played his last match for Portugal as he defeated Spain in the final of the Nations League on 8 June. He scored 14 goals at 49 international levels.
Guardia Civil told BBC Sport that Jota and his brother died after his car, overtaking a Lamborghini, another vehicle, exiting the road due to a tire shock.
The brothers were going to the Sentnder’s Spanish port, so Jota could return to Liverpool for pre-seasons training.
