A tears for Fear Tribute Act has said that he was amazed to see the co-founder of Syth-Pop Band participating in one of his gigs.
On August 8, Bristol was performing close to tears close to wool, when he saw tears for the fear of singer Kurt Smith in the crowd.
Andrew Bewington, the lead singer of the tribute band, told BBC Radio Bristol that it was “just amazing” and “The Best Thing in the World”.
In a post on FacebookThe cover band has written that the night was made even more special as it was Smith’s last night in the UK, before he returned to America, where he now lives.
Mr. Bevingon said that he saw the basist and singer in the crowd and admitted that it was “nerve-wrakeing” to play in his presence.
Asked if he thought of asking Smith on stage, Mr. Bevengton said he did not do so with “etiquette”.
“We didn’t announce that he was there, we did not know he would come, and we assumed that he was just doing a pint with his family,” said Mr. Bevengton.
“He is a very private man and an ordinary man. It did not seem right [to ask him on stage]Perhaps next time he joined us. It would be surprising “, he said.
Mr. Bevington said that Smith’s brothers often participate in their gigs and were included in the guest list, but despite this, they bought all the tickets.
“He was over for a birthday party and it was amazing to come with him. I have seen him many times, but never met him.”
Mr. Bevington said that the iconic 80s singer included him for a drink after Gig, where the band thanked him for his arrival, while he chatted and took photos.
“They say that they never meet their idols, but this is not true in this case. The man is a legend,” said Mr. Bevingon.
Kurt Smith and Rolland Ozball founded the Tiers of Fear Fear in Bath in 1981 and released their first album The Hurring in 1983.
He obtained international praise in 1985 with the release of his second album, The Big Chair song.
