The body of a 13 -year -old boy was trapped under water after getting into difficulty with a friend with a friend, hearing an inquiry.
Kane Edwards’s death is fine in the Tave River Swanasi Enterprise Park in May 2022,
PC Richard Pederbridge, South Wales Police, said emergency services discovered a “flander” 45 minutes, but “very fast running” and “Merky Water” made it impossible to save him.
A small boat was used to reach the center of the river, where Kane’s body was recovered, the interrogation in Swanasi heard.
The court heard that Kane and his friend were seen paddling by the first two passers -by, who did not pay much attention to them because it was a lot that a lot of teenagers did.
After some time, Matthew Alterno said that a boy looks upset and said to him: “Have you seen my friend? He has gone under water and has not come up.”
He called emergency services, but said that the water was “very dark” and was asked to look and others were asked to keep out.
PC Pederbridge said he moved towards the center of the river, but he did not go because he knew that “underwater was running faster than the current surface”.
A police helicopter was called, but the search was kept small as Kane was unlikely to be far away.
The official said that firefighters also struggle in fast flowing water, some almost flow.
A member of the fire service went under the water and emerged again, saying that he had a tree located “on the bottom of the river”.
The court heard that a shoe emerged and a shout from the banks of the river, where Kane’s family had gathered, saying that it was Kane’s shoe.
