A person was suspected of being part of an organized crime group, who smuggled people in Britain in small boats.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) officials said that they had first detained 22 -year -old Irani on suspicion of conspiring to facilitate illegal immigration at a address in Acox Green in Birmingham.
The arrest followed the BBC investigation into the activities of people smuggling people working in Northern France and West Midlands.
NCA officials said that the man is now in custody and due to questioning.
“People work for the benefit of smugglers [and] Without concern for the safety of those people, they transport, “said Jack Beer, head of the regional major investigation of the force.
“Our investigation continues with the evidence we have collected today.”
The NCA said that currently it was a 91 ongoing investigation into network or individuals at the top level of organized immigration crime or human trafficking.
