A Surrey community that was effectively divided into two by the presence of a huge synchron, has been “reunited” by a fetus and donkey darby.
Two sections of Godstone High Street returned in FebruaryWith a collapse measuring 20 meters (65 ft) in length.
A section of the pavement recently opened up around the site of the hole, which caused property clearance, trade shutdown and significant traffic disruption for the local people.
Tenders District Counselor Lewis Case, who organized a bank holiday event, said: “I think people are coming back to the village.”
Now in its 83rd year, the event welcomes thousands of people on Godstone Green for many special activities.
Ms. case said: “We saw a lot of people during the week and in the weekend, even compared to a month ago.
“This incident has actually re -connected the community.”
Meanwhile, the Tendries District Council said it hoped that the affected road could be reopened by Christmas – the wishes shared by John Quinsee, Secretary, Cataram, Oxed and Godstone Lions Club Secretary.
He said: “We are going around Godstone with our father, with our father Christmas float in this December and we hope that it will be filled in Sinkhol, otherwise it really makes our path mess.”
The investigation of the cause of the synchron has led to many conclusions.
In June, engineers confirmed that they discovered eight-meters (26 feet) deep network of Victorian sand mining tunnels around the site.
Earlier this month, those working to repair the road said Fall started with a burst water main,
However, he said that they were not ready to blame the water leakage for the presence of holes.
