Eight people were rushed to the hospital after a car collapsed in a care house for a car.
The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) on Wednesday evacuated the residents at the high -faced care home in Witherwack, Sunderland after an accident at around 21:40 BST.
A part of the building is badly damaged, with a huge hole on the edge of the property.
The Every Health Group, which manages the care home, said the residents have been taken to temporary housing. Northumbria Police has been contacted for comment.
Carol Wilson, the wife of a resident of a resident who has been evacuated, said that when she sees the loss, she can “do not believe her eyes”.
66 -year -old Mrs. Wilson said: “This [the car] Hit the house and we got a call about the hearing about the disadvantage at 23:10. I could not believe my eyes, the entire upper floor has come in. ,
Her husband, 76 -year -old Kenneth Wilson, has been in the house for more than a year and was evacuated at around 01:00 BST on Thursday, Smt Wilson said.
She said that her husband was taken to a separate house in County Durham, but it was not known when he could return home.
“The talk for me is now taking her closer to the house because I can’t drive for Durham,” she said.
“But I want to emphasize how brilliant the employees are, I can’t thank them enough.”
A NEAS spokesperson said that he sent three emergency ambulance crew and several expert teams to the scene on Whitchurch Road.
“We assisted the evacuation of residents in the property and eight patients were rushed to the hospital,” he said.
In a statement, every healthcare said: “The safety and welfare of our residents and employees is our complete priority and we continue to work closely with the authorities concerned.
“Residents have been taken to alternative housing where their care continues without interruption.
“We want to express our honest thanks to carers and colleagues in our neighboring homes who have stepped to support this time.
“Compassion has been really commendable in ensuring their professionalism, dedication, and a smooth transition and continuity of care.”
