Washington – Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatly is preparing to enter the race for the Open US Senate seat in North Carolina, one of the top battlegrounds of the 2026 cycle, which is according to the three sources familiar with his plans.
Whatly’s plans have been blessed by the White House, a source said. According to three sources familiar with Cooper’s plans, the Democratic East Northern Carolina Gove is expected to enter the race in Roy Cooper. Sources said that Cooper is expected to announce his dialect next week.
The iconic Senate seat is being vacated by Republican Sen Thom Tilis, who has held the seat since 2015.
