The National Museum of Denmark unveiled that it is described as a “picture” before the Viking: a short 10th -century statue depicts a man with a royal mustache, braided beard and very neatly prepared hairstyle.
Carved by Ivory walus tusks, partially damaged representation of a head and torso measures just 1.2 inches).
“If you think of Vikings as a Savez or Wilde, this figure is actually proving to be contrary. He is very well prepared.”

Pentz said, “He has a center above his head, and then his hair is cut in the neck.”
She has a side wave that appears to the ear and, in addition to a large mustache and long, hanging goat, she has sideburn.
During the Viking era, the beautiful hair was a sign of wealth and status, the paintz explained.
“A hair design like him, which is very clean – you can see a little curl or tuff of hair moving above the ears – (suggests) This man is at the top.”
“He himself can be the king, King Harald Bluetooth.”
The artwork, which is considered a piece of an ancient board game representing a king, was originally found in the Oslo Fazard in Norway in 1796.
It has since been away in the archives of the National Museum of Denmark and forgotten.
When the Pentz stumbled on the idol in a large collection of the museum a few years ago, he said that it felt as if the Viking looked right on it.
Its detailed carvings are opposite with other existing illustrations of vikings – on things such as coins – which have very little or no personal details or facial expressions.
Viking Edge Art is known for its specific animal motifs, but rarely portrays humans.
“This is the first thing that comes closer to a picture of the Viking period that I have seen,” Pentz said.
“The most surprising thing for me is his expression. Most of the human figures viking rendering are quite simple, and they are not really human-like,” he said.
But it is unique with an extension attention.
“He looks devilish, some people say. But I think he looks more as he is just a joke or something like that. He is smiling.”
