Officials confirmed that a single shooter had died after opening a fire near the University of Emoree in Atlanta on Friday afternoon.
Atlanta Police Department officials confirmed that a police officer was “injured during the response.” The current position of the officer is unknown.
“Emorey Emergency: Emori Point CVS, the shooter active at the Emori Atlanta Campus,” the office of the university’s preparation and response was posted to the X by the office. “Run, hide, fight. Avoid the area.”
A shelter was removed by the university in a shelter at around 6:30 pm
