MSNBC host Rev. Al Sharpton has called Andrew Cumo to get out of the mayorl race in New York City, urging the former governor to consider what would be in the best interest of the residents of New York City.
“I think Andrew Kuoomo should see what is best for the city and let them run one by one,” Sharpton said on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ on Wednesday.

Sharpton, saying that he had reached the Cumo camp to encourage the former Governor to leave, said that this decline would also be in the “Best Interest” of the 56th Governor of New York, while removing his name from Cuomo NYC mayoral ballot.

“He can support one or the other and a fight over what is the best for New York,” Sharapton said.
In response to a question about Sharpton’s comments, a spokesperson of Cumo’s campaign told Fox News Digital in an email that “Everyone deserves their political opinion.”

The spokesperson said, “We understand that President Trump Eric supports Adams, and believes that socialism is an answer.” “Most of the new yorkers are not Trumpers, and most New Yorkers are not socialists – the majority is located in the middle. We will continue to assess the current situation in the best interest of the people of New York City.”

Also on Wednesday, President Donald Trump vowed to “save New York City” from Mayor’s candidate Zoharan Mamdani. Mamdani has faced criticism of conservatives and even some Democrats on her socialist policies and refused to condemn the rhetoric related to terrorism.

In a win over Cuomo and nine other candidates, Mammadani was officially declared the winner of the Democratic Party Primary in New York City for the mayor.

The New York City Board of Election posted the official results of three rounds of choice ranked last week’s Mayor Primary, and Mamdani caught a majority with 56% of the votes in the third round.
