South Park – Creators of Treyer and Matt Stone have made a deal to transfer long -running satirical cartoons from HBO Max to rival Paramount+from HBO Max.
Under the five -year deal, the paramount will stream all the 26 previous sessions of the show and start 50 new episodes starting from this week.
The step comes after a one -month long bid war between major streaming platforms.
In recent times, Paramount and its CBS Network have faced criticism with the cancellation of the late show with Stephen Collbert, which the firm says “purely a financial decision”.
According to Los Angeles Times, the five -year deal is $ 1.5BN (£ 1.1bn).
The new episodes will be shown at the Cable Channel Comedy Central of Paramount before streaming on the first paramount+.
The latest season, which was originally slaughtered to start to circulate from July 9, was delayed by contract negotiations.
An animated comedy began in 1997 and is known for its dishonest characters and its unfiltered humor, which has often launched the show in controversy.
Trasers and Matt Stone also made controversial hit musical the book of Mormon.
Some Democratic Party politicians have questioned whether the CBS cancellation of the late show after more than three decades was associated with an agreement with US President Donald Trump.
He filed a lawsuit last October, alleging that the CBS had misleaded an interview, which aired at his 60 -minute news program with his presidential election rival Kamla Harris, “to tip the scales in favor of the Democratic Party”.
Paramount stated that it would pay $ 16m to settle the suit, but with funds allocated to the future President’s Library of Trump, “direct or indirectly” was not paid.
The company said that settlement does not include the statement of apology or regret.
