Two councilors have been suspended after an alleged attack in West Midlands.
Sandwell Labor Councilors Danny Milard and Claire Mayo were suspended after an incident in Surfit Hill Road, Cradely Heath in early Sunday.
Police said two people were rushed to the hospital, while a woman suffered minor injuries.
A 23 -year -old woman and a 26 -year -old man were arrested on suspicion of serious physical damage and a 40 -year -old woman, a 33 -year -old, was placed on suspicion of attack, all four have been granted bail.
West Midlands Labor said it was “extremely concerned” about the incident and suspended the two councilors from the party “immediately”.
The party said that she would not comment further due to the ongoing police investigation.
A spokesman for the West Midlands Police said it was called after the attack on Surfit Hill Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called on the road at around 02:50 BST.
He said: “On arrival, the employees found two men, whom they had treated for injuries, they were not considered serious before going to the hospital.”
A spokesperson of the West Midlands Labor said: “Both Counselor Millard and Councilor Mayo were immediately suspended by the Labor Party on receiving the allegations.
“Given that it is under a police investigation, we are not able to comment further at this time.”
