State Secretary Marco Rubio rejected speculation that he could be the Republican Party’s 2028 presidential candidate, instead throwing his support behind Vice President JD Vance.
“I think JD Vance would be a great nominee if he decides that he wants to do so, “Rubio said during an interview with Lara Trump that aired on Fox News Channel on Saturday.
Rubio described Vance as one of his “closest friends”.

He appreciated Vance’s performance during the section on “My Values with Lara Trump” and clarified that he was satisfied with his current role in President Donald Trump’s cabinet.
“I want to do this work until the President allows me,” Rubio said.

Trump appointed Rubio to work as the top diplomat of the nation, as soon after defeating the President Kamala Harris In the 2024 election. Rubio was first confirmed to Trump’s cabinet, a Republican Senator representing Florida earlier.
“I am confident that if I am able to stay here through the period of this presidential post, and we are working at the pace that we are doing in the last six months, then I will be able to see my time back in public service and say that I have created a difference, I had an impact, and I served my country in a very positive way,” Rubio told Trump.
“And I will be satisfied as the top of my career,” he said.
